The (horror) film maniacs let it rip again with their outrageously catchy, yet astonishingly brutal metalcore. Spencer Charnas and his boys have taken up the concept of their immensely successful 2018 work ‘The silver scream’ and – as has been the tradition with horror shockers for decades – are serving us a sequel. Here, too, a screen model has been chosen for each song. Some of the tracks were even accompanied by celebrity friends who made cool guest appearances. For example, Buddy Nielsen from Senses Fail, who drops in on the driving ‘F.L.Y.’, inspired by ‘The Silence of the Lambs’. Or Papa Roach’s Jacoby Shaddix for ‘Hip to be scared’ - INK’s bow to ‘American Psycho’. Speaking of ‘Psycho’, Alfred Hitchcock’s masterpiece is referenced in ‘The shower scene’ (logical, right?) – an almost sure-fire hit candidate. Just like ‘Ex-mørtis’, an irresistible tribute to ‘Dance of the Devils’. A great album that is already crying out for another instalment.
