STRIKER have continued the tradition of first class heavy metal bands from Canada at a consistently high standard for years. If you think of a medley of Exciter and Savage Grace, mixed with later influences of Steelwing or Enforcer sounds good, you'll love the new album "City of Gold". STRIKER pay their respects to classical speed metal, but also work with Maiden-esque twin guitar harmonies. "It's about heavy metal and a good time", explains vocalist Dan Cleary concerning the band's philosophy. "If you’re having a party at your house, put our CD into the player and drink some beer. This music is made for precisely such moments." But STRIKER is not just a retro act. Together with producer Fredrik Nordström, they created a sound which is both modern and aware of its tradition. No headbanger will be left cold by songs like 'Taken By Time', 'City Of Gold', or 'Bad Decisions'.
