Appears as a 2LP 180 gram black audiophile Vinyl. The Vinyl edition was cut by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering in 2023 at 45rpm from the analog original tape. The Vinyl edition includes a 24'x12' poster with the complete cover.
The absolute Frank Zappa classic 'Over-Nite Sensation' turns 50. For some, it is the entry into the Zappa world, along with the following album 'Apostrophe' from 1974. It was also the first Zappa album to be released in quadraphonic surround sound. With this album, the musical direction of 'The Mothers' changed, as Frank took over most of the vocals and was the only guitarist. It was a new band, a new sound, and eventually the album was awarded gold. Over the years, almost every song from 'Over-Nite Sensation' became a live hit and a fan favorite. Even 50 years later, the album is still one of the highlights in the Zappa catalog and a perennial favorite.
