"Holocausto de la morte" LP van Necrophagia

HELLS HEADBANGERS is proud to present the classic second album from NECROPHAGIA, Holocausto de la Morte.

The significance and influence of NECROPHAGIA on the death metal genre were firmly established with their absolute classic debut album, 'Season of the Dead,' released in 1987. While the posthumous release, 'Ready for Death,' from the 1990s was intended to be NECROPHAGIA's debut album, its highly controversial nature as an 'official bootleg' of the band, which had already ceased to exist after the release of 'Season of the Dead.'

However, NECROPHAGIA was undead and eternal, and the band rose from the grave in 1998 with the release of 'Holocausto de la Morte.' The TRUE second album from the band, 'Holocausto de la Morte,' featured a brand new lineup, led (as always) by founding vocalist and lyricist Killjoy. While it was a barely kept secret back then, this NECROPHAGIA lineup included an 'Anton Crowley' on guitar, who was actually Pantera frontman Phil Anselmo. Either way, 'Holocausto de la Morte' kept the spirit of NECROPHAGIA intact and even more so, as Crowleys particularly repulsive tone and swampy riffing took the album into darker and more insane territory than most death metal of the time. 'Holocausto de la Morte' was neither 'old school' nor a complete return to 'Season of the Dead,' but it respectfully expanded the NECROPHAGIA lexicon in a truly extreme way and, more importantly, made the band accessible to an entirely new legion of fans who had the privilege of experiencing the band's evolution over the next two decades.
