Few bands in the history of the Heavy Metal underground have as remarkable, unlikely, or uplifting a story as Cirith Ungol. Founded in Ventura, California, in the early 1970s, Cirith Ungol created a sound that the world had never heard before.

Cirith Ungol wasted no time riding the wave they ignited with their 2020 studio comeback, Forever Black, and immediately began writing songs for Dark Parade after its release. Then, like everyone else, Cirith Ungol was paralyzed by the global pandemic and struggled through illness, isolation, grief, and depression in their pursuit of creating dark, vibrant art. And like the greatest warriors, they persevered and worked on one song after another - distractions aside. The first piece they composed was the crushing 'Relentless,' which bolstered their confidence and clear vision. The rest of the album came together naturally, fueled by personal hardship and the tragedy of the global collapse.
