Fans and critics already awaited the debut album by the band 'Phantom Winter' (ex Omega Massif) from WΓΌrzburg and now it comes as a CD and LP on Golden Antenna. About a year ago, the post metal band 'Omega Massif' broke up very unexpectedly. After the band had previously released their acclaimed album "Karpatia", they had already been called the new Neurosis or Isis. The break-up came all the more a surprise. Then the announcement that Andreas Schmittfull (guitar) and Christof Rath (Drums) have formed a new band, was the next big surprise. Along with Martin Achter (bass) and Christian Hospital (vocals) the quartet 'Phantom Winter' was founded. Of course the expectations towards this band were quite high and with the pre-streamed song "Corpses Collide" it was clear, that the band will even exceed the expectations! "CVLT" is a masterpiece of doom, sludge and (traditional, but politically correct) black metal. The brutal and dark passages are again and again traversed by spherical / psychedelic guitar melodies - clearly this is the sound of Omega Massif shining through.
